Fifteen of us visited Kirsten and Terry in Yonkers. After brunch, we ignored the occasional raindrops and hiked along the Aqueduct Trail to the Lenoir Nature Center. There, we found massive trees, fields of vines and an herb garden with thyme and sage plants. We also walked through the Alder Estate (now an Irish cultural center) and admired its Romanesque statues. By the time we returned to Kirsten’s place, we were hungry again.
